What changes the cost from Uzbekistan
- Flights: pilgrims from Uzbekistan usually fly from Tashkent and other cities to Jeddah (for Makkah) or Madinah. Fares are highest in Ramadan and school holidays.
- Hotels: a hotel within walking distance of the Haram costs much more than one a bus ride away. Splitting a room between family members lowers the cost per person.
- Visa and insurance: the Umrah visa is issued through the official Nusuk platform with mandatory medical insurance. Check the current fee on Nusuk before you pay.
- Exchange rate: hotel and transport prices in Saudi Arabia are set in riyals, so a change in the Uzbek som rate changes your total.
Package or plan it yourself?
Many pilgrims from Uzbekistan travel in organised groups. Ask for the full list of what is included, and compare hotels by distance from the Haram and the nights in Makkah and Madinah.
